Description
A very unique Antique wooden travel library. This piece dates to the 16th century and is all wooden with a metal latch. There are posts at the bottom for the door to fit into and a crude metal latch at the top of the other side. One side is used to carry books, the other side is for important papers. It is 21" tall, 11" deep and 15 1/2" wide. It is dovetailed around all of the edges. This is a beautifully hand crafted piece of furniture. Purchased from an auction about 8 year ago, this piece came from a woman that imported the finest Chinese antiques directly from China. This piece was one of only 2 pieces that I purchased. It is absolutely beautiful. Designed back in the day to hold books during travel.
