Description

A beautiful and very old covered cheese dish. This piece is marked Wessel on the bottom. Made by Ludwig Wessel. It is in nice condition for the age. It dates to the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Great for any farmhouse kitchen. Bright orange poppies, pink thistle and small yellow flowers in the background. Heavy gold trim with some gold loss on the base. It is 9" across, 7 1/2" wide and 8 1/2" to the top of the handle. No chips or cracks. There are some signs of crazing as would be expected in a piece this age.
