I have purchased a group of African hand made tooled leather boxes. The estate sale that these pieces came from was from a woman and her husband that lived in Africa from the 50’s-70’s. These boxes are from that era. They all seem to be in nice condition with no damage. I am going to put all of the listings in with changing only the title. I will note if there is any damage or not. Most are what I would consider very close to mint. This particular covered leather box is very large and has a lid. These are all from the Zulu tribe, from what I have been told and are all, completely handmade. The coloring on these pieces are different in color. The pattern on each piece is also different…., Some are prettier or more designed on the on outside. I work for an auction house/Antique shop with certified apprasiers (for 5 years, they have been in business for over 50). If you have questions, please ask. If I don’t know, I will to get an answer for you.
This piece is 8" across 3" tall to the top of the lid, which fits tightly on the top. These pieces are in very nice, used condition. They each have a board that is inside and leather covered, but I am uncertain what it is for. This particular box is green leather.
