Antique Train travel case. This is a Fantastic old piece. The crystal bottles are threaded with brass. They have tiny ground stoppers that fit inside of the screw lids. The other crystal bottles have snap on brass lids without stoppers. The mirror back stand is brass and the fabric on it matches the inside of the train case. Each piece has it’s own place in the box. There is a brass brush and clothing brush. There is a celluloid comb and this set is very complete. The contents are as follows.
There is a tall thin bottle in the front, probably for a toothbrush back in the day. It would have snapped in place in the front of the case just behind the handle. It still fits here but the snap has broken through. It is crystal and is 7″ tall. It is etched in the bottom what looks like Moden Germany.
The pair of matching bottles with the brass threaded tops are 4″ tall, these are the pair that have ground stoppers inside of the lids. The soap box is brass. It is 4″ long and 2 1/2″ across. The smaller bottle without the stopper is most likely for powder. It is 3 1/2″ tall. The clothing brush is 6 1/2″ long and 1 1/2″ wide. The brush is 8″ long and 2 1/2″ wide. The comb is in the right side pocket and is 1 1/2″ wide and 6 ” long. The mirror is in very good condition and is 5 5/8″ long and 3 5/8″ across. It fits in the left pocket of the case. The outside of the case is leather and it is a little rough. These pieces become fragile with age. It is in usable condition however. It is a really neat, very early set. This set dates to the turn of the century. It is a Stunning little set. Perfect for any collector.
