Very large Imari Platter or Tray.   This Platter is large at 12 1/4″ across.  It has no damage of any kind and still has the original paper label on the back as well as the  symbol.   Imari is a premiere maker of fine Japanese porcelain bowls and plates.    The piece is decorated in the red paint with cobalt blue and heavily trimmed out in gold.  This is a very stunning large platter.  Perfect for display or for use.    There is a holder on the back of this piece in order to hang it with.  A great wall hanging or perfect for your mantle.  This Asian platter was purchased at an Estate Sale and was displayed on a stand.  It is a really pretty piece.  The back of the bowl or plate is also decorated just slightly with a cobalt pattern in three places.  Although this wouldn’t be seen if hung, it certainly would during serving your guests.  This is what makes this brand of porcelain a bit better than others.  The flowers on this piece almost jump off of the plate.  They range from orange to red and have plenty of cobalt dots around them in the center of the platter.
